I attended the 2025 Media Day British GT Championship at Silverstone.
This is used to for teams to put their cars on track for the first time in 2025 and to iron out any early problems, and for media and 2000 fans to watch and get a first glimpse of how the season could pan out.
Sadly defending champion Rob Collard missed Media Day and will miss round 1 at Donington Park due to an unforeseen medical procedure.
For Media Day and Round 1, Matt Topham will drive the No 1 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO II along side Hugo Cook.
I wish Rob a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him race later in the season.
In other pre season news, Honda joins the British GT Grid in the shape and form of the NSX GT3 Evo22. This will be entered by Bridger Motorsport and driven by Chun Cheong 'Johnny' Ip and Luke Garlick.
Ferrari also returns to the British GT Grid for 2025. This is a Ferrari 296 GT3 will be entered by Spirit of Race and driven Duncan Cameron and Matt Griffin.

'Topping the leader board for both morning and afternoon sessions was the No 67 Orange Racing powered by JMH McLaren 720S with their fastest time being in the morning session with a lap time of 1:56.961
The Bridger Motorsport Honda and The Spirit of Race Ferrari were both around 3 seconds off the pace in the morning and afternoon sessions. Is this genuine pace difference or are these teams holding some cards close to their chests. Lets not forget that the Balance of Power rules will also have an impact during a race weekend
The leading GT4 was the No 71 Century Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 Evo with a lap time of 2:08.468
I enjoyed Media Day, it was good to see the cars on track after a long winter and to catch up .some of the drivers and some of my friends.
Round 1 is at Donington Park on 05-06 April and will be worth a visit if you can get there.
I'm looking forward to a season of close racing with the best soundtrack in motorsport.
