I attended the 16th Classic and Supercar event held at Sherborne Castle sponsored by Lancaster Insurance. These events are held to raise money for different charities, this year monies raised will go to The British Heart Foundation.
Upon arrival it was clear to see that this was a hugely popular event due to the amount of cars queuing to get into the grounds of Sherborne Castle.
Once into the grounds it was clear to see just how many cars were in the grounds, somewhere around 2000, there was literally something for everyone. From Pre War to Supercar and from road car to racing car, all were represented.
This year, the feature marque was Porsche.
Below are my highlights from the
Ferrari Owners Club
Club Lamborghini UK, I spent a while at this stand chatting to some of the Lamborghini owners as well as some of the people working with Club Lamborghini UK. If you get a chance to, they are very easy going people, and are worth talking to if you have an interest in Lamborghini. Thanks to Alan and Glen for your time.
This Lamborghini Countach was my car of the day.

It ha a 14.5 litre 8 cylinder aero engine that is thought to be the prototype for Ettore Bugatti's Royale engine. Photo's do not do this cars size justice. unfortunately the car has not been completed and was not running.

Cars from around the Sherborne Castle grounds
If you like your cars, this event is well worth a visit, there plenty to see. The Castle is open to look around and there are children activities around the grounds.
The Castle as a backdrop give this show a fantastic atmosphere and I will be looking forward to re-attending in 2020.
My thanks go to Keith McGhee and Stuart Annett of the Sherborne Classic and Supercars comimttee for making my trip to the show possible and answering phone calls and emails, making it easy to plan and attend the event.

On a somewhat different note, earlier I mentioned the queue to get into the show, I discovered later this was due to the unfortunate passing of a fellow called Mark Rowlands who was on his way to the show. Mark was tended to and treated by paramedics on the A352 in Sherborne.
My sincerest condolences go to Mark's family and friends at this difficult time.
