I paid a visit to the London Motor Museum. The LMM was opened in 2001 by it's founder Elo, a former model with just 7 cars. The museum now has over 200 exhibits on display. The LMM work with local schools in the community and promotes local community projects such as Explore Hayes, a community project that is helping young people make the best of the facilities in the local area to try and create a more cohesive community.
The last time I spoke with Elo, he told me that his was the only museum in Europe that has to pay full business rates and does not receive Gift Aid. This is due to a series of court cases between the museum and the local council.
