I recently attended the first Autoism Charitable Car Meet at The Classic Motor Hub in Bibury. This ran straight after their June Coffee and Classics Meeting.
Autoism was started by Leon Watts, to raise awareness and acceptance for people with Autisim. Since Leon was three years old, he had a love of cars from watching Top Gear and at 5 was diagnosed as being on the Autistic Spectrum.
I first met Leon at the Dick Lovett Cylinder Club meeting in April and his enthusiasm for the cars was unmistakable.
This is the first show that Leon has put on with the help of his supportive family to raise funds for EOTAS Riverside Centre Swindon and The National Autistic Society.
On the day over £1200 was made through a raffle, cakes baked by Leon's Nan (they were lovely), charity bucket collection and the Just Giving page.
Despite the rain, some truly amazing cars and people attended Leon's event, Paul Woodman of Love Cars brought his Ferrari 812 Superfast, Marino Franchitti was going to bring a Ferrari F40 but due to the weather bought an F12 TDF, Spike Hughes and Jane Weitzmann bought their Ford GT40, Henry Cole bought a custom Norton bike and a chap called Kevin Nicks brought a shed.
Below are my photo's from the event.
Marino Franchitti bought Nick Mason's Ferrari F12 TDF to the event.
For all of the Ferrari's and Lamborghini's, The Worlds Fastest Shed drew the biggest crowd. The engine on this is an Audi V8 and sounded fantastic when it was revved.

An Autoism cupcake. Lovingly baked by Leon's Nan, these are not to be missed.
This was the first event that Leon has put on as Autoism and it will not be the last. If you can get to the next one, please attend as it's a worthwhile cause. You will also receive a warm and friendly welcome from Leon and his family.
