Thruxton Historic Race Meeting 15th and 16th August

I recently attended the 3rd running of the Thruxton Historic Race Meeting. This is the first race meeting of 2020 at Thruxton that spectators were allowed to attend since the outbreak of COVID-19. 9 races over the weekend, with everything from Pre War cars to Touring cars of the 70's and 80's. Alongside this, drivers such as Gregor Fisken, Patrick Blakeny-Edwards, Tiff Needell, Jon Minshaw, Grant Williams and Duncan Pittaway provided the crowd with some great racing.
On static display around the track were some car clubs, the feature club being the GT40 Enthusiasts Club had several fine examples of GT40 to have a look at.

Below are my photo's of the action from the track

15th MLR Pre 63 GT Cars. This race was won by Jon Minshaw and Rory Butcher in the No 33 E-Type Jaguar

HRDC Jack Sears Trophy for Touring Cars 1958 - 1966 This race was won by David Coyne and Adrian Miles in the No 4 Ford Mustang

Ric Wood was pulling out a lead of over two seconds a lap before his race was ended with what looked like broken suspension in his Nissan Skyline GTR.

It was great to see these cars and drivers in action and Thruxton always provides great racing. It's worth a trip if you can get there.
The next race meeting at Thruxton is the British Racing Sports Car Club on the weekend of 22nd and 23rd of August. Tickets start at £12.
