Jaguar Project 7

Very often at car shows, the car park often has some hidden gems. Race Retro was no exception. Hidden in plain sight next to a Ferrari 458 Speciale was Jaguar's Project 7.

This is the latest of the F-Type models pushed to the hardest edge to celebrate Jaguar's 7 Le Mans victories. Only 250 of these have been built by Jaguar's Special Vehicle Operations divison, 80 being sold to British buyers at £130,000 each. So what do you get for this kind of money?
The Project 7 has a 5 litre, V8 Supercharged engine that has been modified to produce 567 bhp, this is 25 more than the standard F-Type and an 8 speed 'Quickshift' automatic gearbox that has a bespoke tuning for a faster gear change. This gives a 0-60 time of just 3.8 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 186 mph. The Project 7 is also 45kg lighter than the Standard F-Type. They have made weight savings in the seats and the hood. Changes have also been made to the suspension, aerodynamics to make this the most powerful road Jaguar yet.
People that have driven this car love it, and I think it looks amazing. It's easy to see this as a modern take of a D-Type Jaguar and they are great to drive. I would hope to one day have a go in one as it has had some great reviews.
Please leave a comment to let me know what you think of it.
