What sparked your interest in cars?
It all started a kid and I got my first toy red Ferrari.
What was your first car?
A Mini
I understand you are going to race the Ford GT40 at the Le Mans Classic in 2024 with Jason Plato. How did that come about and what is the GT40 like to drive?
Whether or not we will manage to pull this off is another thing but I hope so! It all came about one night after too many beers!
Do you have plans to further expand your collection?
Never say never… but at the moment I am just concentrating on having a few nice ones.
How was taking part in the Millie Miglia? I understand you took part in more than the one that was released on DVD? Which was your favourite car to drive in the Mille Miglia?
I was at the 2015 Millie with Jaguar Heritage who were celebrating their 80th Anniversary. I was in their Jaguar D-Type, driving with Charley Boorman. Great fun! And finished this time!
If you could race for any team in motorsport past or present, who would it be?
It would be Redbull, I’m good friend with Adrian Newey and it is just amazing what he does.
Thank you to James Martin for taking the time to answer my questions.
Chewton Glen was an amazing venue to host a Supercar show and the range and variety of cars on display made it well worth the trip.
The wide range of food and drink on offer would mean that there was something for everyone. From Indian to pizza to a mobile pub with food and beer and much more.
James Martin was a gracious host spending time with people, talking to everyone, having photo's taken and signing various items.
James told me that he is looking to do another one of these in August, no confirmed date yet but keep your eyes open for tickets as this is one of the best events around.
